Ingredients

For the Beef Patties

  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Burger Sauce

  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

For Assembly

  • 8 large iceberg lettuce leaves
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • Pickle slices (optional)
    Instructions
  • Step 1: Prepare the Lettuce
  • Carefully separate the iceberg lettuce leaves.
  • Wash them thoroughly under cold water.
  • Pat dry with paper towels.
  • Choose the largest leaves to use as the top and bottom “buns.”
  • Step 2: Make the Burger Patties
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Mix gently until just combined.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions.
  • Shape each portion into a round burger patty about ½ inch thick.
  • Press a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.
  • Step 3: Cook the Patties
  • Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place the patties on the hot surface.
  • Cook for 4–5 minutes on the first side.
  • Flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes, or until desired doneness.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
  • Step 4: Prepare the Sauce
  • In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard.
  • Stir until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 5: Assemble the Burgers
  • Lay two large lettuce leaves on a plate.
  • Add tomato slices.
  • Place the cheeseburger patty on top.
  • Add chopped green onions and pickles if using.
  • Spread or drizzle the burger sauce over the patty.
