Ingredients
- 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240 g) plain yogurt
- ½ cup (120 ml) warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast (or 1 packet)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Butter (optional, for brushing)
- In a bowl mix:
- warm water
- sugar
- yeast
- Let it sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add yogurt, olive oil, salt, and flour.
- Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and slightly elastic.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl.
- Cover and let rise 45–60 minutes until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into 6–8 balls.
- Roll each ball into a 15–18 cm (6–7 inch) round about ½ cm thick.
- Heat a dry skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Cook each flatbread 2–3 minutes per side.
- It should puff and get golden brown spots.
Brush with melted butter while warm for extra flavor.
