Ingredients
For the Filling:
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheddar for stronger flavor)
- 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1–2 tablespoons cooked crab meat or imitation crab (finely chopped)
For Wrapping:
- 20–25 wonton wrappers (square)
- 1 small bowl of water (for sealing edges)
For Frying:
- 2–3 cups vegetable oil (for deep frying)

- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)

Mix everything in a small bowl and set aside.

Step 1: Prepare the Filling
- In a medium bowl, add softened cream cheese.
- Mix in shredded mozzarella, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- If using crab, fold it in gently.
- Mix until smooth and well combined.
Step 2: Assemble the Wontons
- Lay a wonton wrapper flat on a clean surface.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center.
- Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper.
- Fold into a rectangle (or triangle if preferred).
- Press edges firmly to seal, removing air pockets.
- Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
Step 3: Heat the Oil
- Pour oil into a deep pan or pot (about 2–3 inches deep).
- Heat to 350°F (175°C).
- If you don’t have a thermometer, test by dropping a small piece of wrapper—it should bubble and rise quickly.
Step 4: Fry the Wontons
- Carefully place 4–6 wontons into hot oil (don’t overcrowd).
- Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove using a slotted spoon.
- Place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve hot and crispy with the dipping sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired.

- Make sure edges are tightly sealed to prevent filling from leaking.
- Don’t overfill, or they may burst while frying.
- Keep oil temperature steady for even crispiness.
- You can also air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway (lightly spray with oil first).
