Ingredients

For the Strawberry Sauce

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Strawberry Sauce

  1. Wash and hull the strawberries.
  2. Cut them into small pieces.
  3. Add strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and water to a saucepan.
  4. Cook over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. When the strawberries soften and the mixture thickens slightly, remove from heat.
  6. Allow the sauce to cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Sundae Base

  1. Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 3–5 minutes to soften slightly.
  2. Fold the sliced fresh strawberries into the strawberry ice cream.
  3. Add a few spoonfuls of cooled strawberry sauce and gently swirl it through the ice cream.

Step 3: Assemble the Sundae

  1. Spoon a layer of strawberry ice cream into a tall serving cup or glass.
  2. Add a drizzle of strawberry sauce.
  3. Repeat the layers until the cup is nearly full.
  4. Add several scoops of ice cream on top.

Step 4: Garnish

  1. Top with whipped cream if desired.
  2. Sprinkle fresh strawberry pieces over the ice cream.
  3. Drizzle with strawberry syrup.
  4. Garnish with a mint leaf for a fresh and elegant presentation.
