Ingredients
Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup warm water
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp yogurt
Garlic butter
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander/parsley
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- Pinch of salt
Method
- Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Rest 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, yogurt, and oil. Knead 6–8 minutes until soft.
- Cover and let rise for 45–60 minutes.
- Divide into 8 balls. Roll each into a small circle.
- Brush with garlic butter, fold/roll if desired, then gently flatten again.
- Heat a lightly greased pan over medium heat.
- Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden spots appear.
- Brush immediately with more garlic butter and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
Tip: Keep cooked breads covered with a clean towel so they stay soft. Serve warm with yogurt, raita, or curry.
