Ingredients

For the dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt

For the garlic herb butter

  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill or cilantro, chopped
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the dough: Combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. Add warm water, yogurt, and olive oil. Knead for 7–8 minutes until soft and smooth.
  2. Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare butter: Mix melted butter with garlic, parsley, dill, chili flakes, and black pepper.
  4. Divide the dough into 10–12 balls. Roll each into a thin circle.
  5. Brush with the garlic herb butter. Fold or roll the dough over itself, then gently flatten and roll again into a round flatbread.
  6. Cook: Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 2–3 minutes per side, until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Brush the hot breads with more garlic herb butter and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
  8. Serve warm with yogurt, cheese, curry, soup, or your favorite dipping sauce.
