Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter (room temperature, ~100–120g)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
🔪 Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease a loaf pan and lightly dust it with flour (or line with parchment paper).
🥄 Making the Batter:
- In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and sugar for 3–5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Add vanilla extract.
- Now add the dry ingredients and milk alternately:
- Add some flour → mix
- Add some milk → mix
- Repeat until everything is combined
- Mix until smooth (do not overmix).
🔥 Baking:
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake at 180°C for 35–45 minutes.
- Insert a toothpick in the center — if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
❄️ Cooling:
- Let the cake sit in the pan for 10–15 minutes
- Then remove and cool completely on a wire rack
💡 Tips:
- For extra moisture, add 2 tbsp yogurt
- Sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking for a crisp crust
- Make sure butter is soft (not melted)
- Do not overmix — it keeps the cake soft
