Ingredients
- 3–4 medium potatoes
- Water (enough to cover)
- 1 tsp salt
1. Wash & Prep
- Wash potatoes thoroughly to remove dirt.
- You can peel them now or after boiling (both work).
2. Boil
- Place potatoes in a pot and cover with water.
- Add salt.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender.
3. Cool
- Drain water and let potatoes cool slightly (so they’re easier to handle).
4. Slice
- Slice into rounds, cubes, or wedges depending on your recipe.
Boiled and sliced potatoes are soft, fluffy, and neutral in flavor—making them the perfect base for countless dishes. Whether you’re preparing a salad, frying them crispy, or adding them to a creamy bake, this simple step is the foundation of many delicious meals.
