Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 4 large chicken breasts (skinless & boneless)
- 12 asparagus spears (trimmed)
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 2 tbsp cream cheese (optional for extra creaminess)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Toothpicks or kitchen twine
Optional Cream Sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice each chicken breast horizontally to create a pocket.
- Season inside and outside with:
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Italian seasoning
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
In a bowl mix:
- Mozzarella cheese
- Cream cheese
- Garlic
Stuff each chicken breast with:
- 3 asparagus spears
- Cheese mixture
Secure with toothpicks.
Step 3: Sear the Chicken
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Step 4: Bake
- Transfer chicken to a baking dish.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Optional Cream Sauce
- Melt butter in a pan.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Pour in heavy cream.
- Stir in parmesan cheese.
- Simmer until slightly thickened.
