Ingredients

3 cups Cake Flour or All Purpose Flour

1/4 cup white sugar

3/4 cup unsalted cold butter (grated or cut into small pieces )

3/4 cup cold milk

1 egg

3 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 180 Degrees Celsius( 356 F)

2. In a large bowl sift in flour , baking powder, sugar and salt .

3.Add the cold butter and rub in with your finger tips until you get a sand like texture .

4.Add the egg , vanilla and cold milk then gently mix the wet and dry ingredients together.

5. Transfer the dough on a floured surface. Gently bring it together using your hands .If you feel the dough is a little sticky sprinkle some flour .

6. Use a round cookie cutter to cut out the dough.

Slightly brush each dough piece with an egg white .

Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly golden brown on top .
