Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (room temperature, ~100–120g)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

🔪 Preparation:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a loaf pan and lightly dust it with flour (or line with parchment paper).

🥄 Making the Batter:

  1. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar for 3–5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Add vanilla extract.
  5. Now add the dry ingredients and milk alternately:
    • Add some flour → mix
    • Add some milk → mix
    • Repeat until everything is combined
  6. Mix until smooth (do not overmix).

🔥 Baking:

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  2. Bake at 180°C for 35–45 minutes.
  3. Insert a toothpick in the center — if it comes out clean, the cake is done.

❄️ Cooling:

  • Let the cake sit in the pan for 10–15 minutes
  • Then remove and cool completely on a wire rack

💡 Tips:

  • For extra moisture, add 2 tbsp yogurt
  • Sprinkle a little sugar on top before baking for a crisp crust
  • Make sure butter is soft (not melted)
  • Do not overmix — it keeps the cake soft
