Keto Cheesy Cabbage Sausage Skillet with Lemon Thyme Honey Mustard


For the Skillet:

  • 1 lb sausage (choose a keto-friendly option)
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Lemon Thyme Honey Mustard:

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp honey (use a keto-friendly sweetener for a low-carb version)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add sausage to the skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked. Remove sausage from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add shredded cabbage. Cook until the cabbage is tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. While the cabbage is cooking, slice the cooked sausage into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Once the cabbage is tender, add the cooked sausage back to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  6. Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the cabbage and sausage mixture. Stir until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. For the Lemon Thyme Honey Mustard, in a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, honey (or keto sweetener), lemon juice, chopped thyme, salt, and pepper.
  9. Serve the cheesy cabbage and sausage mixture with a drizzle of Lemon Thyme Honey Mustard on top.
