Main Ingredients

  • 20–24 jumbo pasta shells
  • 400–500 g ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Ricotta Filling

  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Sauce

  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Topping

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Optional Add-ins

  • Spinach (chopped)
  • Mushrooms
  • Chili flakes
  • Fresh basil or parsley

Instructions

Step 1: Cook Pasta Shells

Boil shells in salted water until al dente.
Drain and set aside to cool.


Step 2: Cook Beef

Heat olive oil in a skillet.
Cook ground beef until browned.
Add onion and cook until soft.
Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.


Step 3: Prepare Filling

In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, salt, and pepper.
Add cooked beef mixture and combine.


Step 4: Prepare Sauce

Mix marinara sauce with tomato sauce and Italian seasoning.


Step 5: Assemble

Spread a layer of sauce in a baking dish.
Fill each shell with the beef-ricotta mixture and place in dish.
Pour remaining sauce over shells.


Step 6: Add Topping

Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top.


Step 7: Bake

Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.


Step 8: Serve

Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with herbs if desired.
