1 green bell pepper – sliced.

2 cloves of garlic – minced.

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce.

1/4 cup ketchup.

2 tablespoons of soy sauce.

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning.

Pepper and salt to taste.

4 hoagie rolls/burger buns.

Provolone cheese slices.

PREPARATION:

Stage 1.

First you need to heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and cooked through. Remove the cooked minced meat from the pan and set it aside.

Step 2.

Add sliced onion, bell pepper and mushrooms to the same pan. Cook over medium heat until it softens and starts to caramelize, about 5-7 minutes.

Stage 3.

Now you need to add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for another minute until fragrant. Return the cooked ground beef to the pan with the vegetables. Stir to combine everything.

Step 4.

In a small bowl, whisk together Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Pour this sauce over the meat and vegetable mixture in the pan. Mix well to coat everything evenly.

Step 5.

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture cook for about 10 minutes. While the sloppy joe mixture is boiling, preheat your broiler. Divide the hoagie rolls or hamburger buns and place them on a baking sheet.

Step 6.

Once the sloppy joe mixture is ready, pour it onto the bottom half of the hoagie rolls or hamburger buns. Place 2 provolone cheese slices on each.

Step 7.

Place the baking sheet with the assembled sandwiches under the broiler and broil for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly browned. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and carefully place the top halves of the hoagie rolls or hamburger buns on top of the sandwiches.
